If you are traveling or interning abroad this summer or any time during academic year you can make an impact and gain field research experience by joining our network of research volunteers. While abroad, you can contribute to the deeper understanding of the official and unofficial distribution networks for misoprostol and other drugs.
Volunteers are provided with a simple, standardized information-gathering questionnaire and guidelines for where to seek information, what questions they should ask at local pharmacies, drug stores, and middlemen distributors, but only in cases where access is possible without any danger to the volunteer. These surveys and questionnaires have been prepared with the help of the professional midwives, health workers, public health professors, and those with business experience. After the trip, the student volunteer will write a report on his/her experience and submit the information he/she has gathered. Monetary compensations are available.
